An old signal path. A new sonic question.
An old tube preamp I don't want to reduce to a vintage knob. B27 is my attempt to rebuild its signal path as a plugin using historical documentation, published measurements and circuit simulations.
Screenshots to follow. This space will show the B27 interface.
B27 draws on a tube amplifier developed in the late 1950s that later helped shape the sound of well-known recordings from the 1960s.
I'm using documented circuit details, published measurements and simulations to build an independent preamp plugin. Where questions remain, I keep testing and comparing until I'd want to keep the sound on a recording of my own.
An audio demo already exists. This product page is an initial draft; more detailed sound examples, screenshots and technical information will follow.

Historical documentation and documented circuit details form the foundation.
Published measurements and circuit simulations help shape the model.
Open questions are still being tested and compared. Sound examples for this page will follow.
No public download is offered here yet. An audio demo already exists; information on public access will follow.
Pricing and the licensing model are not settled yet. This page is not a purchase offer.
Supported operating systems, plugin formats and system requirements will be listed once they are settled.
A historical tube amplifier is the starting point, alongside documented circuit details, published measurements and my own simulations. These form the basis of an independent preamp plugin.
